My mother’s side of the family were staunch Catholics going all the way back before Vatican II, for hundreds of years from French Canada to France, their country of origin. Baptismal, marriage, and death records from the different parishes they lived in are all recorded in our family genealogy.

They believed those denominational doctrines ever since they were created by the church. I know what they teach. And I know they do not align with the Word of God.

Furthermore, religion is no substitute for relationship. I was taught about God but never knew Him personally. It wasn’t until I accepted Jesus as my Savior that I felt His peace, presence, and joy.

He said that “no one comes to the Father except through Me” and He meant it. No church, ritual, sacrament, prayer or good work can save you. Only His shed blood on the cross gives you eternity with God, new life, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

There is no substitute for that. None.

The scriptures are very clear that all humans are sinners and that Jesus was the only one born into the world who was completely sinless. He is the Son of God in the flesh, conceived in Mary’s body by the power of the Holy Spirit, is the second Person in the Trinity, and has always eternally co-existed with the Father and Holy Spirit.

Mankind is sinful (Psalm 51:5, Romans 3:23)
