Even today , among progressives there are those who struggle to recognize the bloody crimes of which Marshal Tito was guilty. It seems absurd, but it’s true. The proposal of the Brothers of Italy to revoke post-mortem the position of Knight Grand Cross of the Order conferred in the past on the Yugoslav dictator has in fact incredibly met with resistance on the left, where a very acceptable provision has become the pretext for yet another instrumental political dispute.
When asked by the Huffington Post about the Melonian party’s proposal, the Left-Green MP Filiberto Zaratti expressed his disappointment. And he wasn’t the only one to do it. “There is a need for proof and at present there is no conviction of the international courts against Tito”, stated the parliamentarian, perhaps forgetting that those responsible for the massacres in the foibe were precisely the supporters of the Yugoslav dictator, who also did not he limited himself to endorsing that extermination and was responsible for as many massacres and violence linked to the consolidation of Tito’s power. “So what do we do with Mussolini?
