The fact that police were involved indicates that a law was broken. It remains to be seen what the long-term effects of the pager sabotage will be
1) Hezbollah operatives who have been blinded cannot be of much realistic use to them, because resources for retraining and redeployment are likely to be limited. My guess is that they might be used as a human shield, so that Hezbollah can say “Look, Israel is targeting blind people”.
2) Hezbollah forces have to have been weakened, and their communications may have been put in disarray. (If they acquired the pagers to prevent Israel from tracking mobile signals, do they now return to the mobiles?)
3) If Hezbollah has operatives who are serving nurses and doctors, as Hamas has, the chances are that their time is now fully occupied with healing their colleagues, again reducing availability for combat deployment.
Additionally, the recent pre-emptive strike on Hezbollah’s rocket launchers, whilst it was aimed at preventing a specific attack, may also have presented logistical challenges in terms of re-arming so many posts.
So it is arguable that there has been some softening up of the enemy prior to moving the new IDF forces into position.

The Israeli navy should send a couple of submarines to do a clean sweep. Pirates are not civilians, and the best outcome they deserve is to become prisoners of war once their boats have been sunk.

For Iran it’s a win-win situation. Blockade the world’s shipping and increase the demand for fuel oil due to the extended length of journeys. Even if they are not supplying the oil, the extra demand will buoy up prices.
Not sure if this is a sensible idea or not (will not be offended if it gets shot down) – but is there a way that submarines could be deployed as shuttle service tugs, with the ships still afloat on the surface, but the crew transferred to the sub, and all crew and functional areas on the ship bolted and barred? This would mean that the most vulnerable part of the convoy, i.e., the crew and the engine room, would be underwater, making it more difficult to use the methods that the Houthis have used to date. And, depending on just which submarines they were, and who was manning them, they might be able to return fire if an attack occurred.
(slightly later) Just also had the thought that, if the pro-Palestinian activists and the climate change activists are not the same people, the latter ought by rights to be quite concerned about all those ships travelling for miles out of their way, using lots of extra fossil fuels….could be interesting to see Greta Thunberg’s reaction if the Palestinian cause is trashing the environment.

If the aid isn’t getting to the Gazans anyway, is there any reason not to bomb the warehouses and thus deprive Hamas of a slice of its income? The people for whom the stuff was meant might even be able to extract some of it from the rubble.
(added later) Come to think of it, I wouldn’t mind betting that Sinwar is hiding in, near or underneath one of the warehouses, to ensure access to supplies as the IDF closes in.

Wondering how many nuclear weapons any country realistically needs – surely, the real deterrent is that they are available to a given state at all, rather than that someone like Kim Jong Un can allocate one each to all of the EU countries.
