Omosessuali non si nasce. E neanche lo si diventa. Intervista alla prof. Giorgia Brambilla docente della Facoltà di Bioetica al Regina Apostolorum sugli aspetti scientifici e bioetici dell’omosessualità Roma 14 Dicembre 2014 (Zenit.org) Maria Maset All’interno del Diploma di Perfezionamento in Bioetica lo scorso sabato 29 novembre è stata aperta al pubblico la lezione sul tema “Teoria del Gender storia e fondamenti”. Di seguito presentiamo un’intervista fatta alla prof.ssa Giorgia Brambilla in occasione del suo intervento durante la seconda parte della lezione dedicata agli aspetti scientifici e bioetici dell’omosessualità. *** Dalla differenza all’indifferentismo sessuale quali sono le origini di questo dibattito? chi sostiene che non esista una vera differenza tra uomini e donne crede che il corpo è sì sessuato ma questo non è determinante. Ciò che conta è come la persona si sente. E la differenza maschile/femminile sarebbe una differenza esclusivamente culturale cioè gli uomini e le donne sono tali perché da bambini siamo stati educati così. Storicamente vi è stata l’influenza di varie correnti. Per citarne alcune il permissivismo edonista e il suo slogan “al sesso non si comanda!”; il pansessualismo di Freud che riconduceva le nevrosi e le sofferenze della personalità alle repressioni della sessualità; il rapporto Kinsey secondo cui il sesso è un mero meccanismo legato a certi stimoli e dunque non ha senso dire in ambito sessuale che una cosa è sbagliata o che non è normale; la rivoluzione sessuale che ha portato a ridurre il sesso alla mera istintualità. Il filo conduttore consiste nell’idea che l’uomo debba essere liberato e che questo si possa fare attraverso la liberalizzazione del sesso. Il neomarxismo poi specialmente con Marcuse ha esteso la liberazione alla sfera della eterosessualità parlando di “libera scelta del sesso”. Quest’idea insieme anche alla spinta ideologica di Simone de Beauvoir è confluita nella costituzione dei cosiddetti “cinque generi” maschile femminile omosessuale maschio omosessuale femmina transessuale. Il femminismo ha poi imposto l’idea che fosse proprio la differenza dei sessi a provocare l’inferiorità sociale della donna e che i ruoli dell’uomo e della donna anche all’interno della famiglia – per nulla naturali ma solo culturalmente indotti – costituirebbero una grave ingiustizia. La vera conquista ideologica e sociale sarebbe il passaggio dal “sex” all'”unisex”. Ne fu emblema anche l’abbigliamento jeans e maglietta vanno bene per tutti maschi e femmine. Non ci sono punti fermi non ci sono dati di natura validi per l’uomo di ogni tempo e di ogni luogo. Panta rei tutto scorre siamo arrivati a capire che il pensiero multigender ha un’eredità gnostica ed è intriso di relativismo. Si è sessuati per natura o per “cultura”? Fin dal concepimento siamo maschi o femmine e dal sesso genetico si forma il sesso gonadico ormonale e morfologici e nel tempo anche il sesso psichico coerentemente con il sesso fisico se nulla interviene a modificare questo sviluppo naturale. La sessualità l’essere uomini o donne è una dimensione costitutiva della persona è un suo modo di essere di manifestarsi di comunicare con gli altri di sentire di esprimere e di vivere l’amore umano. Ritenere che la corporeità non abbia un peso nella realizzazione piena della persona fino ad affermare una sorta di neutralità sessuale dell’individuo ci fa cadere in una visione dualistica e riduttivista del corpo e della persona. La differenza sessuale è originaria e – sebbene l’ambiente educativo abbia un peso – precede l’educazione stessa e gli influssi culturali e genitoriali. Basta studiare lo sviluppo neurofisiologico del bambino per rendersi conto che le attitudini genere-specifiche sono innate e non derivano dal tentativo di corrispondere ad un genere “pre-impostato”. Chiunque ha figli o lavora con i bambini sa che il bambino si comporta “da maschio” o “da femmina” prima ancora di riconoscersi in un genere. E questo è dovuto a delle differenze a livello biologico innate che segnano una strada preferenziale nello sviluppo. Resettare queste differenze come si vorrebbe fare nelle scuole attraverso un’educazione sessuale che considera il bambino una specie di “tabula rasa” nei riguardi della propria identità sessuata non può che andare a discapito del bambino stesso questa è la vera violazione dei diritti dell’infanzia oltre che una prepotente manipolazione dell’armonico sviluppo del bambino. Alla luce di tutto questo dove e come collocare l’omosessualità all’interno del quadro della sessualità umana? Le affermazioni “quest’uomo è omosessuale”o “questa donna è lesbica” danno l’idea che la persona in questione appartenga a una variante della specie umana diversa dalla variante eterosessuale. Le conoscenze di cui disponiamo ci indicano che le persone con inclinazioni omosessuali sono nate con la stessa dotazione fisica e psichica di chiunque altro e che omosessuali non si nasce. E neanche lo si diventa. Nelle mie lezioni insisto molto su questo aspetto. Semmai si può parlare di persone uomini o donne che hanno – a seconda dell’intensità – sensazioni tendenze e/o comportamenti omosessuali. Sul piano epistemologico infatti non è possibile parlare delle diversità sessuali ma solo della diversità sessuale perché la diversità sessuale è una sola ed è irriducibile quella tra uomo e donna. Sebbene in maniera ciclica spuntino sui giornali notizie come in questi giorni su basi genetiche dell’omosessualità andando a fondo si comprende facilmente la realtà dei fatti l’uomo e la donna con tendenze omosessuali sono un uomo o una donna per determinazione genetica e hanno tendenze omosessuali per acquisizione. Per van den Aardweg il fattore determinante per lo sviluppo dell’omosessualità è rappresentato dal rapporto intessuto con i propri simili all’inizio dell’età adolescenziale rapporto che rappresenta una componente decisiva nello sviluppo della personalità e cioè la visione che l’adolescente ha di sé come maschio o come femmina. Una cattiva integrazione nel gruppo dei coetanei dello stesso sesso e un senso profondo di esclusione farebbero maturare nell’individuo frustrazione e quindi un complesso d’inferiorità quanto alla propria mascolinità o femminilità. Una realtà che ci tengo a precisarlo nasce dall’intimo della persona e non dall’esterno quasi fosse causata da esclusione o denigrazione. Gli atti discriminatori – che laddove ci fossero sono da considerare sempre e in ogni luogo deplorevoli – in realtà non causano questo complesso e vanno considerati in quanto tali. Invece tale è la confusione nel dibattito che siamo arrivati al punto che chiunque osi mettere in discussione slogan proposte di legge o proposte didattiche su questo argomento è messo a tacere a volte in termini ideologici a volte con mezzi più meno intellettuali (basti pensare a quanto subiscono regolarmente le Sentinelle in Piedi o al linciaggio mediatico di questi giorni di alcuni insegnanti di Liceo) il tutto intriso di inestinguibile vittimismo dei militanti gay. Che peso può avere sull’identità sessuata il rapporto con i genitori? Oltre a quanto spiegato mi permetto di aggiungere un fattore antecedente quasi una “preomosessualità” che dipende dai genitori e in particolare dal genitore dello stesso sesso secondo tre aspetti. Il primo riguarda la presenza della differenza. Ognuno di noi costruisce la propria personalità confrontandosi con identità e differenza. Da un lato il bambino comprende se stesso imitando il genitore dello stesso sesso dall’altro osservando quello del sesso opposto. E questo avviene non solo a livello cognitivo ma prima di tutto emotivo e affettivo vedo e “sento” che mamma mi parla mi coccola gioca con me in un modo diverso da come lo fa papà e anche che mamma e papà si relazionano alle stesse persone per esempio agli amici in modi diversi. E non solo perché hanno caratteri diversi; perché noto che il modo di fare della mamma è molto più simile a quello della maestra piuttosto che a quello del nonno o dello zio. L’assenza di un genitore o la mancanza della diversità (come nel caso della “omogenitorialità”) ha dunque delle conseguenze come spiegato da ampia letteratura sull’argomento. Il secondo punto riguarda le abilità sociali. Saper giocare come giocano i coetanei dello stesso sesso aiuta ad apprendere le modalità relazionali tipiche dei pari e ad essere “riconosciuti” dai bambini dello stesso sesso. E il tutto avviene nella piena spontaneità. È esperienza comune arrivare in una classe della scuola dell’infanzia e trovare i bimbi che giocano divisi tra maschi e femmine. E questo non perché una “maestra omofoba” glielo ha imposto ma semplicemente perché maschi e femmine hanno attitudini al gioco differenti. Si ricordi il flop dei vari esperimenti delle “Gender theories” di dare il camion alle bambine e le bambole ai bambini. Risultato? Le bambine giocavano con i camion a “mamma-camion” che cambia il pannolino a “baby-camion” e i maschi prendevano a “sbambolettate” i compagni. Dunque il genitore giocando col bambino lo aiuta ad interagire con disinvoltura con i bambini dello stesso sesso evitando quel complesso d’inferiorità che si genera in adolescenza che secondo vari studiosi sarebbe proprio alla base della genesi delle sensazioni omosessuali. Quest’ultime partono da una idealizzazione dei tratti riconosciuti come non propri degli individui dello stesso sesso fino all’attrazione erotica verso di essi. Il terzo riguarda i genitori come coppia che si ama nel rispetto sereno e gioioso dei ruoli. Ruoli tutt’altro che artificiali o svilenti – e meno che mai imposti! – che ancora una volta sono manifestazione naturale della propria indole di maschio o femmina nel rapporto con se stessi e con il mondo e mezzo per amarsi profondamente nell’accoglienza reciproca proprio quella che non si spiega a parole ma che costituisce l’habitat in cui i figli sono immersi – mi passi il linguaggio – come dei pesci in un acquario. Diverse scuole di psicanalisi sottolineano in merito alle principali cause riscontrabili all’origine dell’omosessualità il tema del padre assente. “Assente” è da intendersi non propriamente nel senso fisico di non presente quanto piuttosto estromesso il più delle volte dalla moglie dalla vita familiare espropriato del suo ruolo di capo forte e premuroso. Oppure denigrato o umiliato a parole o nei fatti dalla moglie stessa spesso di fronte ai figli. E la “madre-tipo” che emerge è quella prevaricatrice nei confronti del marito molto ansiosa e preoccupata spesso dominatrice ma senz’altro molto insicura proprio perché priva di qualcuno un uomo che la guidi e la sostenga. * Giorgia Brambilla è professore aggregato della Facoltà di Bioetica dell’Ateneo Pontificio Regina Apostolorum NOTE Il Diploma di perfezionamento in Bioetica dura due semestri (una annualità) al termine dei quali viene rilasciato il titolo. Interprete delle reali istanze dei suoi coetanei la trentenne Lara Comi volto noto dei talk show ha dunque le idee chiare circa il valore d’avanguardia che assume l’impegno a favore della cellula fondante della società. “Ho sottoscritto con entusiasmo il Manifesto del Forum delle associazioni familiari e della Fafce (Federazione europea delle associazioni familiari cattoliche) presentato in tutti i Paesi Ue perché condivido tutti i punti del documento che impegnano chi si candida alle prossime elezioni europee nella difesa della famiglia basata sul matrimonio tra uomo e donna” afferma la Comi a ZENIT. Impegno che si attua come lei stessa spiega attraverso “il riconoscimento della famiglia tradizionale come soggetto sociale la diffusione del concetto di family mainstreaming (un monitoraggio per analizzare l’impatto delle politiche sulle famiglie ndr) il sostegno a politiche di conciliazione famiglia-lavoro e politiche economiche sostenibili e redistributive”. La crisi del resto ha sferrato un duro colpo nei confronti delle famiglie. “Credo che ancor di più oggi le famiglie vadano poste al centro delle azioni dei governi perché la maggior parte è stata duramente provata dalla crisi da tasse insopportabili e dallo spettro della disoccupazione” il pensiero di Lara Comi. “Questioni enormi che ancora non hanno trovato risposte adeguate” commenta ancora. Quello dell’on. Lara Comi è un punto di vista privilegiato essendo membro della Commissione mercato interno e protezione consumatori per comprendere quanto sia determinante rilanciare il ruolo sociale della famiglia per affrontare la crisi. “Solo investendo sulla famiglia è possibile ribaltare questo scenario cupo che incombe sull’Europa – spiega – e la costituzione di un ampio fronte che abbia come obiettivo prioritario la tutela e la promozione di tali valori e principi può rappresentare la chiave di volta indispensabile per invertire in Ue la rotta verso politiche più solidali dirette alla riduzione della pressione fiscale per famiglie e imprese e alla creazione di nuova occupazione”. Lara Comi si erge così a paladina di valori e principi e non ha remore a parlare espressamente di famiglia tradizionale. In molti tuttavia tra i detrattori di Forza Italia sottolineano l’assenza di una posizione coerente e condivisa unanimemente nel suo partito sui cosiddetti temi sensibili. “Io sostengo la linea di Forza Italia da sempre nella difesa della famiglia tradizionale e riconosciuta dalla Costituzione ovvero fondata sul matrimonio tra un uomo e una donna” replica l’eurodeputata. La quale precisa “E non sono d’accordo su nozze gay né tanto meno sulle adozioni da parte di coppie omosessuali”. La giovane esponente del partito berlusconiano qualche apertura in senso progressista però la concede. Pensa che “i tempi siano maturi per regolare forme di convivenza attraverso una riforma del codice civile”. Ritiene che non ci sia “nulla di scandaloso in questo in quanto si tratta di diritti privati” tipo “questioni in campo patrimoniale proprietà della casa affitto successione ma anche l’assistenza ospedaliera”. Un approccio che definisce in linea con la sua vocazione a “una politica del dialogo e non delle chiusure”. Si tratti – prosegue – “di lavoratori studenti eterosessuali o omosessuali l’uguaglianza dei cittadini è tutelata dalla Costituzione”. Uguaglianza che non potrà mai fondarsi sull’ideologia gender. Anche su questo tema l’onorevole Lara Comi sembra non transigere affatto. “Nonostante il Partito Popolare Europeo abbia lasciato libertà di voto sulla relazione Lunacek” la deputata di Forza Italia afferma “Ho deciso di votare a favore del modello di famiglia in cui sono crescita e che è l’unico che riconosco come funzionante”. Facendo una diagnosi di quanto avviene nell’europarlamento la Comi rileva che l’influenza di gruppi di pressione fortemente ideologizzati “è tanta e viene da tutti i gruppi politici”. Ma ciò non le impedisce di affermare che “una visione moderna non può prescindere dalle leggi della natura che prevedono l’unione di un uomo e una donna per procreare. Tutto il resto viene di conseguenza”. Quelle stesse leggi di natura che impongono la tutela del nascituro. A proposito della petizione Uno di Noi che chiede al Parlamento europeo di non finanziare associazioni che svolgono attività implicanti la distruzione di embrioni umani Lara Comi la pensa così “Essere accolti in audizione di per sé non significa niente è un passo ma non è decisivo se non viene seguito da azioni concrete”. Per questo sollecita a lavorare “affinché ci sia una maggiore consapevolezza su certi temi e affinché la centralità della vita sia riconosciuta in tutte le sue accezioni”. Va sempre considerato che “il progresso tecnologico non può snaturare gli uomini poiché gli impulsi edonistici per quanto leciti non meritano di per sé tutele giuridiche concesse invece a situazioni che hanno conseguenze importanti”. Here’s why According to the National Institutes of Health there have been over 1,000 studies done on the negative effects of BPA – around 90% by REAL independent scientists with ZERO vested interest in proving or disproving BPA’s safety. And while nearly ALL of these independent studies show that BPA is harmful EVERY SINGLE ONE of the industry-funded studies claims that BPA is completely safe. Coincidence? I think not. Armed with this fabricated scientific data the plastics industry went to the federal government hell-bent on making sure BPA would stay on the market. Instead the hormone passes THROUGH her body and gets flushed down into the sewage system. There these artificial estrogens survive the wastewater treatment plant’s purification process and eventually end up in the groundwater rivers and streams that feed our tap water supply. This was confirmed in 2003 when the US Geological Survey began finding this artificial estrogen in city tap water supplies all across the nation. In 2013 scientists with the British Environment Agency also found significant amounts of the pill’s estrogen in much of Britain’s river water. But it was the EFFECTS they found that were truly frightening: These scientists found that the water’s high estrogen levels were causing HALF of the MALE fish to become FEMALES! Now you might be thinking – “But those were FISH not humans!” Well we share over 85% of the same genes as fish – which means that if a chemical affects fish – it’s going to affect us too. Especially hormones – which are almost identical in structure and effect among ALL animals. According to a study conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey that sampled 139 surface waters across the country during 1999 and 2000 a whopping 80% of these waters are contaminated with pharmaceuticals hormones and other endocrine disrupting chemicals such as estrogen. Which means that IF your water supply has this same estrogen – which it likely does according to the US Geological Survey then..all of these could be negatively affecting your body right now and making YOU feel like less of a man than you should be! But as an American man there’s one chemical that you need to be even more concerned about – even more than BPA or birth control pills… ATRAZINE Take a look at this map. If you live anywhere in the blue purple yellow orange or green areas of this map your tap and drinking water likely has SIGNIFICANT levels of Atrazine in it. That’s practically everywhere in the lower 48 states. Atrazine has been the go-to commercial pesticide here in the USA for the past 50 years. Around 80 MILLION pounds of it are used every year on all sorts of factory-farmed crops not to mention lawns golf courses and even Christmas tree farms. …this stuff is EVERYWHERE. And as a result it gets into the groundwater surface water and even into the air we breathe. Syngenta the company that makes Atrazine rakes in over 2.3 billion dollars a year from just this one pesticide – and sales just keep on rising. But just like BPA there is a dark side to this seemingly ‘miracle’ chemical. Back in 1997 Atrazine was due for review by the EPA after being used for 40 years. Syngenta needed a fresh round of “research” to spoon-feed to the EPA so that Atrazine could remain on the market and keep generating billions of dollars for the corporation. To help them craft this data Syngenta approached University of California-Berkeley biologist Dr. T.B. Hayes. They wanted him to study Atrazine’s effects on frogs and prove that it wasn’t harmful. Dr. Hayes took the job and began testing Atrazine’s effects on frogs. He figured that Syngenta wouldn’t have asked him to study the chemical if they had expected him to find anything of concern. …but he DID find something – something VERY disturbing… It started when Dr. Hayes saw that the Atrazine caused the male frogs’ voice boxes to severely shrink. And this was after just a few days’ exposure to the pesticide at VERY low levels – we’re talking about a level 30 times LESS than the quote ‘safe’ level allowed in our drinking water by the EPA… This was startling enough – but what Dr. Hayes found next was truly frightening. He dissected the frogs and found that most of the males had been chemically CASTRATED by Atrazine – the equivalent of having your testicles chopped off! But that wasn’t all. Not only were they chemically ‘castrated’ but many of these male Atrazine frogs had actually developed FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE ORGANS! For these Atrazine-exposed frogs what once were testicles had turned into OVARIES… ovaries that now produced EGGS instead of sperm. It turned out that Atrazine was a highly potent artificial estrogen that could change MALES into FEMALES… Dr. Hayes brought this disturbing news to his bosses at Syngenta. By now you probably can guess what happened. Syngenta REFUSED to allow him to publish these results. The implications were too damaging for the company. After all not only was Atrazine a multi-billion dollar per year product itself but if it came under fire the scandal could seriously damage public image and jeopardize Syngenta’s 15 billion dollar per year revenue. Dr. Hayes felt differently however. He was troubled with how Syngenta was blatantly ignoring the obvious implications: Atrazine could be having similar effects on MEN all across the US! Study after study had shown how estrogens have the same effects in humans as in frogs. And if these minuscule amounts of the artificial estrogen Atrazine could have such disastrous effects on male frogs imagine what the even HIGHER levels of Atrazine present in our tap water could be doing to us American men! Hayes resigned from his well-paid contract job with Syngenta. He secured independent funding for his research and went back to his Berkeley laboratory to see if he could reproduce these terrifying results. He was committed to finding out whether or not we the American public were being POISONED by this chemical. And he soon confirmed his worst fears. Two further experiments showed that Atrazine – even in MINISCULE amounts – causes SERIOUS harm to the male reproductive system. Results from these two studies were soon published in the prestigious National Academy of Sciences Journal where scientists from all over the world could see just how harmful this pesticide was. Once these results went public Syngenta realized they were about to have a massive Public Relations nightmare on their hands – one that could potentially ELIMINATE their billion-dollar product from the market. So they went into damage control mode – pulling out dirty tricks that would make even the most corrupt politician CRINGE. According to documents from an ongoing investigation into the matter by an Illinois State Court and released in 2013 under the Freedom of Information act Syngenta launched a multi-million dollar smear campaign to discredit Dr. Hayes both personally and as a scientist. They bought massive amounts of internet advertising to misinform the public and labeled Dr. Hayes a ‘fraud’ began paying people to disrupt his public talks tried to pull strings to have him fired from University of California Berkeley even used their connections in the Federal Government to prevent him from securing funding for his research. According to memos and emails between Syngenta and the public relations firms it hired also released during this investigation the corporation also secretly paid a few dozen seemingly independent academics and other “experts” to preach the economic benefits of Atrazine and downplay its environmental and health risks all while not revealing their financial ties to the company. In one example of this blatant media manipulation Syngenta hired Don Coursey a professor of economics at the University of Chicago. They paid Coursey $500 per hour to write economic analysis showing how necessary Atrazine is to US agriculture. According to internal emails released in the Illinois investigation Syngenta told him what to say what data to quote and then paid him to speak to TV radio newspapers and other news sources as a quote ‘independent’ expert – all while keeping his lucrative financial arrangement with Syngenta a complete secret. But thankfully it was too late for Syngenta to keep the truth about Atrazine completely hidden. Scientists worldwide had read Dr. Hayes’ research on Atrazine and leapt into action to confirm these results for themselves. Soon research studies were taking place in independent laboratories worldwide and the results were nearly unanimous. Prominent scientists from around the globe agreed that Atrazine is a harmful artificial estrogen and should NOT be used. In fact by 2003 there were so many studies reporting Atrazine’s effects on humans and animals that the entire European Union BANNED the pesticide outright. Here in the US we weren’t so lucky. That same month in October 2003 the US Environmental Protection Agency APPROVED the continued use of Atrazine – jeopardizing the health of millions of citizens like you and me. According to an investigation published by the National Institutes of Health in July 2006: Syngenta (quote) “influenced the U.S. atrazine assessment by submitting flawed scientific data as evidence of no harm and by meeting repeatedly and privately with EPA to negotiate the government’s regulatory approach. Many of the details of these negotiations continue to be withheld from the public despite EPA regulations and federal open-government laws that require such decisions to be made in the open.” With their mix of fabricated scientific evidence and political bullying Syngenta succeeded in keeping Atrazine on the market.
