The EU has negotiated a controversial trade deal with China. The pact has been widely criticized because European leaders have sacrificed their professed concern for human rights on the altar of financial gain. The deal was negotiated in great haste by German Chancellor Angela Merkel French President Emmanuel Macron European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel. The European Union has negotiated a controversial trade deal with China. The pact has been widely criticized because European leaders in their apparent rush to reach an agreement have sacrificed their professed concern for human rights on the altar of financial gain. Indeed precisely one week after the deal was signed China launched a massive crackdown on democracy activists in Hong Kong.

The so-called Comprehensive Agreement on Investment (CAI) concluded on December 30 was negotiated in great haste by German Chancellor Angela Merkel French President Emmanuel Macron the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel. Other EU countries were excluded from the negotiations. Merkel under pressure from China reportedly wanted an agreement at any cost before Germany’s six-month EU presidency ended on December 31.

il nuovo anno è cominciato da pochissimo eppure il vento di novità e speranza che tutti si auguravano una volta archiviato il 2020 sembra non soffiare ancora. Sicuramente non soffia su tutti né con l’energia che richiederebbe.

Per mostrarti il dramma che continuano a vivere i nostri fratelli cristiani vorrei aggiornarti sulla loro persecuzione. Non hanno conosciuto la serenità del Natale e difficilmente conosceranno la pace nel 2021.

***Pakistan. Arrestato con l’accusa di blasfemia per aver condiviso su Facebook un post critico nei confronti dell’Islamismo. Morning Star News

***Pakistan. Circa 1.000 cristiane all’anno rapite e convertite all’Islam costrette a contrarre matrimonio. Lo scorso mese una dodicenne è stata ritrovata dalla polizia incatenata nella casa del suo rapitore/marito. ADF International

*** Cina. Sotto attacco comunista il santuario di Nostra Signora di Zhaojialing dall’Ottocento meta di sentiti pellegrinaggi vanno eliminati icone e simboli cattolici. Bitter Winter

*** Cina/Nord Corea. I Paesi comunisti collaborano con funzione anticristiana. In Cina i nordcoreani vengono torturati prima di essere deportati nel Paese d’origine per subire ulteriori abusi nei campi di “rieducazione”. Christian Persecution

***Sudan. Attacchi musulmani colpiscono a morte la Chiesa in 14 bruciano luoghi di culto e minacciano di morte i fedeli che osano ricostruirne di nuovi. Christian Persecution

***Nigeria. Oltre 2200 cristiani uccisi lo scorso anno sgozzati sei al giorno. Nella regione settentrionale la comunità cristiana subisce i continui attentati degli estremisti del gruppo di Boko Haram. Money.it/Intersociety

***Nigeria. Il Paese resta diviso fra Sud cristiano e Nord islamico. A causa della loro Fede cristiana negli ultimi venti anni sono stati uccisi centomila cristiani. Inside Over

Quella della Nigeria è una pagina di crudeltà tristemente nota anche per la piaga dei sequestri di religiosi occidentali. Finalmente se ne stanno accorgendo i media mainstream più che altro per ragioni economiche. Speriamo si possa presto agire in nome della compassione verso i cristiani nigeriani più che per le attraenti risorse del Paese.

Una cosa è chiara. In Pakistan India Cina Nigeria le persecuzioni esistono. Si muore. La situazione allarmante dovrebbe sconvolgere. Eppure l’informazione ufficiale tace colpevolmente molti episodi.

L’Osservatorio sulla Cristianofobia intende colmare questo vuoto per quanto possibile.

Ricordiamo che gli attacchi ai credenti sono continui non vanno in ferie. Anche nel nostro “civile” Occidente si va dall’aborto alla limitazione delle libertà di culto e di espressione negate ai cristiani alla gogna mediatica inflitta ai preti dalla derisione dei sostenitori della famiglia naturale alla distruzione di statue della Vergine Maria.

Per esempio in Francia la Federazione Nazionale per il Libero Pensiero è riuscita ad ottenere l’abbattimento di uno dei tanti Calvari presenti in Bretagna. Sin dal 1946 questo monumentale crocifisso ricorda ai passanti la crocifissione di Gesù. Caro agli abitanti del luogo che ne hanno garantito la recente ristrutturazione è da demolire subito per l’associazione di filantropi che si autodefinisce “contro lo zucchetto”.

Questo in Europa. Non dobbiamo dimenticare i terribili abomini commessi in altre parti del mondo. Le pillole fornite settimanalmente dall’Osservatorio cercano di fare questo creare e mantenere viva l’attenzione sulle difficoltà affrontate da chi crede in Dio.

Gli attacchi anticristiani non sono episodi da fiction né scene tratte da documentari sul passato. I dati lo confermano. Questo forte clima d’odio è tutto a colori è contemporaneo. Sta per esplodere nel 2021.

E l’Osservatorio usa un linguaggio chiaro e diretto per aiutare a formare un’immagine più veritiera delle persecuzioni.

Operiamo e preghiamo affinché si acquisti consapevolezza di questo dramma. Preghiamo intensamente per i cristiani perseguitati nel mondo in tutto il mondo in ogni forma possibile.

È grazie a sostenitori come te che l’Osservatorio sulla Cristianofobia riesce ad aiutare concretamente tanti cristiani in difficoltà e tiene accesi i riflettori sugli episodi di odio che li colpiscono.

Dear lorenzo—Students all across America are being confronted by a dangerous offensive curriculum called “Critical Race Theory” that attempts to indoctrinate them that inherent characteristics they possess such as their race and skin color mark them as an “oppressor” or as someone who is “oppressed.” This is outrageous and flies in the face of everything that should be taught in our schools. As Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. said it is the content of a person’s character not the color of person’s skin that defines an individual.

The International Organization for the Family (IOF) is supporting a legal effort to put an end to critical race theory instruction in the schools. With our new project Schoolhouse Rights we are helping wage a federal lawsuit filed in Nevada by a student and his mother whose lives have been turned inside out by this outrageous instruction. I am asking for your financial help to press this lawsuit. Will you step up today?
