Vicepremier belga: il trans icona dell’Europa

Il transessuale nato uomo che si fa chiamare Petra De Sutter è stato eletto vicepremier del Belgio. Un’ascesa che non potrà non avere conseguenze, dal momento che è sia un attivista Lgbt, sia un medico alfiere della riproduzione medicalmente assistita. L’Ue applaude, poco importa se questi modelli hanno generato la peggiore crisi economica demografica d’Europa.
Le simpatie arcobaleno dei vertici politici europei, per lo più progressisti, non sono un mistero per nessuno. Non più, ormai. Ciò nonostante, è difficile non considerare a suo modo «storico» quel che è avvenuto nelle scorse ore in Belgio, dov’è stata ufficializzata la nomina a vicepremier e ministro della Pubblica amministrazione di Petra De Sutter, 57 anni, già eurodeparlamentare ma soprattutto – ecco la notizia – primo uomo transessuale d’Europa a ricoprire un simile incarico.
Sì, perché De Sutter, ginecologo e dirigente del Dipartimento medicina riproduttiva dell’Ospedale universitario di Ghent, poco meno di una ventina di anni or sono ha deciso definitivamente il «cambio di sesso» per apparire donna, affacciandosi poi, dal 2014, al mondo della politica e divenendo il primo transgender nella lista di un partito politico alle elezioni europee, senza tuttavia guadagnare l’elezione. A quel tentativo ne sono seguiti altri, così nel 2019 per De Sutter è venuta, attraverso le file dei Verdi, l’elezione a Strasburgo al Parlamento Europeo.
L’aria europea pare aver portato fortuna a costui che, come si diceva, ora ha agguantato ben altri due primati: quelli di primo vicepremier trans e quello di più anziano politico Lgbt sulla scena continentale. Un’ascesa che non potrà non avere conseguenze, dal momento che De Sutter è sia – anche alla luce della propria condizione – attivista pro Lgbt, sia – in ragione della propria professione – un alfiere della riproduzione medicalmente assistita.
Aspettiamoci dunque un’ovazione mediatica per tale nomina; ovazione che, a ben vedere, è già iniziata perfino da noi, con il noto settimanale iO Donna che, nel raccontare l’ascesa politica di De Sutter, ha sottolineato che «mentre la Polonia crea zone “Lgbt free”, il Belgio dimostra di sapere cosa significhi davvero uguaglianza e lo fa, nei fatti, con la nomina a ministro». Come a dire: avanti, su, seguiamo esempi come quello del Belgio, senza più attardarci su orizzonti culturali retrogradi.
In effetti, che quella arcobaleno sia oramai la strada obbligata – pena le solite accuse, prima fra tutte quella dell’omofobia – è stato recentemnte confermato anche dalla presidente della Commissione europea in persona, Ursula von der Leyen, la quale, intervenendo nella sessione plenaria del Parlamento Europeo, lo scorso 16 settembre, è stata chiarissima al riguardo: «Proporremo di estendere l’elenco dei crimini dell’UE a tutte le forme di crimini d’odio e di incitamento all’odio, che sia a causa della razza, della religione, del genere o dell’orientamento sessuale».
Non solo. In quell’occasione la von der Leyen ha annunciato, a breve, il varo di «una strategia per rafforzare i diritti delle persone Lgbtqi». La nomina di De Sutter ai vertici governativi di un Paese come il Belgio, così significativo proprio a livello europeo, si configura insomma come un’ulteriore conferma, qualora ve ne fosse ancora bisogno, di quale sia l’orizzonte valoriale odierno di un progetto europeo che, pur preservando a parole l’autonomia dei singoli di Stati, nei fatti risulta drammaticamente omogeneo nella cultura radicale che promuove.
Poco importa, rispetto a tutto ciò, che l’Europa sia oggi un Continente terribilmente minacciato – oltre che dalla crisi economica conseguente a quella sanitaria – da un devastante inverno demografico, con lo stesso Belgio caratterizzato da un tasso di fecondità (1,68 figli per donna) estremamente lontano dal decisivo tasso di sostituzione: i modelli culturali che si vogliono imporre, pardon proporre, sono quelli à la Petra De Sutter, e per chiunque abbia qualcosa da ridire giù minacce di querela per transfobia. In simili condizioni, non è affatto strano che l’Europa sprofondi; più che altro, ci sarebbe da meravigliarsi del contrario.
