A quanto pare, il “resto della popolazione” include non solo i dipendenti dell’Autorità palestinese (Ap), ma anche i malati palestinesi che hanno bisogno di cure mediche. Abbas ha ora deciso di punire questi pazienti impedendo loro di ricevere assistenza sanitaria in Israele.
La decisione dell’Ap di impedire ai pazienti di ricevere cure mediche in Israele non si applica agli alti funzionari palestinesi.
L’Autorità palestinese (Ap) ha deciso che i palestinesi non potranno più ricevere cure mediche in Israele – ad eccezione degli alti funzionari palestinesi. La scorsa settimana, Jibril Rajoub, un alto dirigente di Fatah, la fazione guidata da Mahmoud Abbas attualmente al potere in Cisgiordania, è stato ricoverato all’Ichilov Hospital (nella foto), la più grande struttura ospedaliera israeliana per il trattamento di patologie acute. Lo scorso marzo, il ministero della Sanità dell’Ap con sede nella città cisgiordana di Ramallah, di fatto la capitale dei palestinesi, ha annunciato che avrebbe interrotto i trasferimenti medici verso gli ospedali israeliani, promettendo di trovare alternative per i pazienti palestinesi in strutture ospedaliere private e governative.
L’Ap afferma di aver preso la decisione in risposta alla detrazione effettuata da parte del governo israeliano – dalle entrate fiscali raccolte per conto dei palestinesi – del denaro versato dal governo palestinese alle famiglie dei prigionieri e dei “martiri”.
