loro vogliono entrarci. Guai a voi, scribi e farisei ipocriti, che
percorrete il mare e la terra: per fare un solo proselito e,
ottenutolo, lo rendete figlio della Geenna il doppio di voi. -

Riflessione: • Nei prossimi tre giorni meditiamo il discorso pronunciato
da Gesù che critica i dottori della legge ed i farisei, chiamandoli
ipocriti. -

23,13-22), Gesù pronuncia contro di loro quattro volte l’espressione
“Guai a voi…” (Mt 23,23-26), e nel vangelo di dopodomani, la pronuncia
altre due volte (Mt 23,27-32). Sono espressioni contro i capi religiosi
dell’epoca e sono parole molto dure. Nel meditarle, devo pensare non
solo ai dottori ed ai farisei del tempo di Gesù, ma anche e soprattutto
all’ipocrita che si trova in me, in noi, nella nostra famiglia, nella
comunità, nella nostra Chiesa, nella società di oggi. Guardiamo nello
specchio del testo per scoprire ciò che c’è di sbagliato in noi stessi. •
Matteo 23,13: Il primo ‘Guai a voi…’ contro coloro che chiudono la
porta del Regno, perché così voi non vi entrate, e non lasciate entrare
nemmeno quelli che vogliono entrarci. -

Presentando Dio come un giudice severo, lasciando poco spazio alla
misericordia. Imponendo in nome di Dio leggi e norme che non hanno nulla
a che vedere con i comandamenti di Dio, falsificando l’immagine del
Regno ed uccidendo il desiderio di servire Dio e il Regno. Una comunità
che si organizza attorno a questo falso dio “non entra nel Regno”, non è
nemmeno espressione del Regno, ed impedisce che i suoi membri entrino
nel Regno. • Matteo 23,14: Il secondo “Guai a voi…” va contro coloro
che usano la religione per arricchirsi. Voi che sfruttate le vedove e
rubate nelle loro case, e per occultarlo dite lunghe orazioni! Per
questo, voi riceverete una condanna più severa”. -

mezzo per arricchirsi, ciò è ipocrisia e non rivela la Buona Novella di
Dio. Trasforma la religione in un mercato. Gesù scaccia i commercianti
dal Tempio (Mc 11,15-19) citando i profeti Isaia e Geremia: “La mia casa
sarà chiamata casa di preghiera per tutte le genti. Voi invece ne avete
