Under
Gaddafi’s despotic rule, the situation for Christians was already
extremely harsh. The secret police restricted church activities and
evangelism was criminalized. But after the civil war that led to
Gaddafi’s death, the future could be even worse for the church. Because
of the unrest, 75% of expat Christians left the country. The National
Transitional Council is expected to implement Sharia and make Libya an
even more Islamic state than before. Saint George’s Church was ransacked
when they took control of Tripoli.

Pray:

• There were reports of Muslim-background believers being beaten by family members. Pray for perseverance for these believers.
• During the uprisings, many Christians were open about their faith –
  and now fear the consequences. Pray for wisdom and boldness.
• Two Christians have been held hostage by the NTC for importing
  Christian books. Pray for protection for those delivering Christian
  literature into the country.

   of my brothers and sisters in these countries where their rights are
   not respects, their lives are in danger and even the respect afforded to
   their deceased is lacking. While I sit here in freedom and comfort,
   they suffer for their faith and so I do what I can….I stand in the gap
   for them, praying that they would show themselves faithful in situations
   I can’t even fathom. I pray, Holy Spirit, that you would empower them,
   en-courage them, give them hope and resolve in the midst of these
   situations. May they love their enemies and pray for them, and in so
   doing, may they be part of your gracious and glorious work of ushering
   in the Kingdom of God into even these dark places. Lord Jesus….reign in
   their hearts and may your light so shine before those who do not
   confess you yet so that they, too, might bow before you and surrender
   all that they are to you. In your gracious and loving name I ask these

   them in dreams , through your preachers, sons and daughters and most
   importantly may your WORD get in and penetrate their very minds and soul

   Save these lost sinners and also please protect , comfort and provide

    hard-pressed believers today in Libya, Iraq, Iran, Nigeria, Somalia,
    Laos, Vietnam, North Korea, and in all other places where believers are
    having to experience all of these atrocities against them. May each one
    feel your presence and experience the peace that passes all
    understanding according to your promises to all who follow you. Lord
    Jesus, haste the day of your coming. While we wait, fortify, strength,
    protect all who are trying to follow you, prosper the spread of the
    gospel, keep us faithful in doing whatever we can to stand with those
    who are enduring fiery trials today. For your glory, in Jesus’ name!!

    persecution and the future looks even bleaker as Islam becomes more
    established as the rule of the land. Lord, I ask that You would
    strengthen and comfort Your children in this country. I ask that You

    know You! I ask that You would soften hearts, especially those in

    abundantly. Thank You for the things You have already done for the
    Christians in Libya and for the ways You have already planned to help
    them in the future. We cannot fathom the awful things they are
    experiencing, but You know and You have the power to work through them
    so others may come to know You. Open the eyes and hearts of those who
    would hurt these precious people. Help them come to know You. As was
    prayed before, send Your Holy Spirit to reveal who You are and how those
    in darkness can know You and receive You. Give the Christians an
    incredible ability to not compromise. Help them to be strong and
    courageous. Be their strong tower and refuge in this time of storm.

    lastly let us remember the following in Acts–” And after calling the

    name of Jesus, and then released them. So they went on their way from
    the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered
    worthy to suffer shame for his name. And everyday, in the temple and
    from house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the

15. Lord, I come before You tonight on
    behalf of the nation of Libya. My heart breaks for the stories of the
    desecration of graves of Libyan Christians. Lord, You know all too well
    the pain of having a loved one violently mistreated and disrespected.
    You had to watch Jesus endure mocking and disgusting forms of
    degradation before He went to the cross. You understand what it’s like
    to be angry and yet to choose to love instead. The Libyan Christians
    need so much grace and love poured out in them to be able to handle this
    situation, Lord. Please have mercy on those who did this, and please
    grant Your comfort and Your peace to the Libyan Christians even in this
    midst of this awful situation.

    I pray for the MBBs in this nation who are being discriminated
    against, abused, threatened and persecuted. I cannot imagine being put
    in that position – but I know from Your Word that Your grace is
    sufficient. You are able to provide the grace needed by every MBB to
    endure what is put before them. I pray that You would protect them,
    provide for them, reassure them. I pray that You would become their
    mother, father, sister, brother and child – and that You would meet any
    and every need that they have. Please bring comfort to them when they
    are grieved and in pain – Lord, be their all.

    I also pray for both wisdom and boldness for the many Christians who
    were open about their faith during the recent uprisings. I know that
    there is a time to speak and a time to be silent – Lord, direct each of
    them and show them when to do which. Help them not to jump ahead of You
    nor lag behind You. Help them to be so sensitive to Your Spirit and to
    Your voice that they would always know what to do. Help them to put on
    the shoes of peace and not to fear events that are no longer under
    their control. Help them to remember that You are in charge and that no
    harm will come to them unless You have allowed it for Your perfect
    purposes.

    And finally, I pray specifically for anyone who is delivering
    Christian literature into the nation of Libya. I pray for Your specific
    protection over both the literature and those delivering it. I pray
    that You would confound the plans of the enemy and allow Your Word to
    spread all over Libya. I pray that You would not allow these Bibles and
    literature to be confiscated, and if they are confiscated, I pray that
    the confiscators would READ the literature and come to know You as Lord!
    Please give wisdom and protection to all those trying to get Christian
    literature into Libya. In Jesus’ name, amen.

    We ask and petition the Throne of Grace for Divine/Supernatural
    Intervention, Deliverance, Angelic Protection, and provisions to be made
    for persecuted believers and Christians in this Region (Lybia) who are
    suffering for the Faith. Father, we ask for grace and favor concerning
    those held captive by the local authorities. We appeal to the Throne of
    Grace and the Kingdom of Heaven, that charges be dropped and that they
    be released. We ask for new and innovative means to continue the
    distribution of the Gospel and Great Commission as You have commanded
    that souls may be saved, healed, delivered, and set free by the Power of
    Your Great Name. Amen & May it be so. ~”Blessed are those who are

    with these precious brothers and sisters in Libya, and I pray that You
    would continue to give them peace and strength in the midst of suffering
    and persecution. I ask that You would protect them from the flaming
    arrows of the evil one, and glorify Yourself as they trust in You.
    Encourage them with the prayers of Your people around the world, and
    make the name of JESUS known to their captors and oppressors through
    their bold and loving witness. Convict us to lift them up to You on
    prayer more often, that we may mourn with those who mourn and rejoice
    with those who rejoice, even if we don’t see the big picture in this
    life. I thank You for Your goodness and Your grace that You lavish on
    all of Your children, and I pray for the strength that we all need as
    Your children to take up our crosses and follow You.

    know this was meant to happen, Lord, help your children. I pray that
    they persevere in this time, Lord, I pray that you give them the
    strength also to persevere. I ask as well that you help them in any way
    possible to hold onto their faith until the end. Lord, I’m also praying
    for those everywhere else around the world that may be suffering
    persecution and just prepare us for it as well. Lord, use it to glorify

    daugthers we know two wrongs don’t make a right. Give my brothers and
    sisters strength, wisdom, and protection in Libya. Give these children
    of God extra protection and like Daniel in the lions den, shut the mouth
    of the lions (the persecutors) so they will have an ear to hear
    followed by a convicted heart. I loose Psalm 91 upon your precious
    children in Libya in Jesus’ Name.

    persecution daily! Give them renewed strength and wisdom and help them to live victoriously
    in spite of what they face daily! Also, that the government be merciful and i pray also for their
    salvation! Only YOU Lord will be able to soften their hearts and cause them to confess their
    sins and walk blameless! Create a break through in the country’s economy as well! Cause
    miracles to take place so that those who do not believe in you will turn from darkness into
    the Light!
