Algerian people. You have intervened and adopted some 25,000 sons and
daughters. To this, we give you glory and honor, rejoicing with you. My
heart is sad for these fellow brothers (or sisters) that have been
excommunicated from their own families. I know that you miss nothing.
You see their every tear and heart ache. I pray that Your Presence be
ever stronger in those that have endured this or other sufferings. You
know what it’s like to be separated from Your children. Give them Your
comfort and may they keep their eyes on You and you only as their source
of comfort–source of everything. I know that You love the Algerian
people, even those who have hardened their hearts against you. And this
makes your hear ache too. Dear Father, pour out your power, send
workers, and reap a harvest that will ultimately change this nation’s
war-torn, religiously divided history. There have been things done there
in the name of God that was not from You. The stain is still upon that
land. Show them who You really are. A just, merciful, loving Father who

have been faithful, and You will continue to be faithful. That is who
You are. Please also help those two believers whose stories we read on
the first page – who have left their families for You. Please give them
the grace that they need to stand strong after this decision.

my family because I have chosen to love and follow You. Please be with
Your children who are in this devastating situation. Give them comfort
and peace. Lord, it’s my prayer that somehow and someway that Your
Spirit would move these family members to follow You and that these
families could be reunited. Lord, it is so awesome to know that You have
strengthened and emboldened Algerian believers to remain steadfast to
the faith. It is awesome that the Algerian church continues to grow
despite persecution and hardship. You are so faithful Lord and we are
grateful for it! Please help the governing authorities to withstand
pressure from radical groups to take even more freedom away from our
brothers and sisters in Christ. Also, please continue to bless Open
Doors and their efforts in Algeria. I pray that the resources that Open
Doors offers will strengthen the Algerian church. May an outpouring of
Your Holy Spirit move in Algeria so that many more will know, love, and
